I'm a huge fan of Anthony Bourdain. I watch No Reservationsreligiously and have read every food related piece of literature that Mr. Bourdain has put out. I cheer for his snarky self when he guests on Top Chef, I love his condescending attitude to all things Food Network(although I cheerfully watch all the programs he is so disdainful of), and I count him as one of the few celebrities that I would actually want to meet. As a matter of fact, I would love to sit down with him to dinner, whether at Le Bernardinor at T.G.I. McFunsters, and hearhis take on everything from locally sourced, organic food to the possibilities of a federal government shutdown. I know in advance that I would probably disagree with him on most things, yet his honesty and his low tolerance for crap are so refreshing. What can I say? I love the guy!
One of the concepts that he brings up repetitively, both on television and in his books, is the idea of the last supper. He maintains that chefs often play this game where they decide what their last meal on earth would be, given no limitations. Every time this comes up, I can't help but mentally play along. I know exactly what I would feast on for my final dinner if I had the choice. (I'll tell ya in a minute) But how about you? I thought it would be fun, and a little insightful, for us to share what that last meal would look like for each of us.
So fire away! Tell me what your last supper would be? Are you going luxury with lobster? Or maybe nostolgic, with one of mom's home cooked favorites? Comment below and let us know! Maybe it will give us ideas for the next church dinner...
