I had a couple of little victories this week. Nothing major, nothing that would cause anybody to be astonished, but for Julie and I, they were pretty good. They were enough to strengthen our faith, cause us to reconsider our direction, and remind us of God's love. That's a pretty good deal.
I think we miss out on the benefit of the little victories that God brings to us. We tend to want to be homerun hitters, knocking the problems in our lives out of the ballpark with one fell swoop. We forget that you can still get home one base at a time and a few singles accomplish the same thing. Most problems are solved in pieces, not all at once. When one of those pieces falls into place, I think we need to take the time to enjoy it and to be thankful to the One who has blessed us.
So I'm feeling that today. I'm grateful that God loves me enough to bring the little victories. I'm pretty sure, in hindsight, all those little victories will add up to some huge wins. Might as well start celebrating now.
