  • We need your help to make Open Source awesome. Check out the opportunities below and let Aaron know on Sunday if you are interested
  • Open Source Kids
    We could use help with our kid’s program on Sunday’s. If you love kids and want to share Jesus with them, volunteer ASAP!
  • Greeter/Hospitality
    We want everyone to feel welcome @ Open Source. That means we want to role out the red carpet every week for those who come to visit. If you are a people person who loves to play host/hostess, this is the ministry for you!
  • Audio/Visual Team
    We need some folks who know their way around a computer and who have a creative bent. If that’s you, let me know ASAP.
  • Set up/ Tear down Team
    It takes a ton of work to make Open Source run every week. A huge part of that is setting up in the morning and cleaning up after. Many hands make light work. We could use some more hands!

Random Thoughts

 Here's some random stuff I've been thinking...

1. I'm one of those weirdos who loves the snow! But if that plow driver throws all that white crap in my driveway one more time, I'm going after him with my shovel!

2. Now I have the theme song to Mr. Plow stuck in my head!  If you get the reference, kudos!  If you don't, chuck it up to not wasting your life watching tv.

3. Gonna celebrate my 15th anniversary next month.  Stumped on where to take Julie.  The anniversary noose is tightening.  Anybody got any cool suggestions for me?

4. I am constantly amazed at how much time Easter takes up for a pastor.  Spent a nice chunk of the week preparing for a day almost two months from now.  What happened to the days when my biggest worry about Easter was how much chocolate was gonna be in the basket?

5. Friday night has become the new Saturday morning for me!  Tonight I plan on watching new episodes of Star Wars, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and Superman.  I'm not a grown-up. Don't judge.

6. I'm old enough to remember when Gadhafi was a nut back in the 80's.  Guess crazy does go round again.  Can't believe this guy is still in power! 

7. Really hoping all that turmoil in the Middle East results in more freedom for the people.  Kinda suspect some new crazies are gonna fill the power vacuum. 

8.  Can't wait for church this week.  Shout out to Greg Davis for coming out to the OSC and sharing his mission.

When that's all that's swimming in the grey matter right now.  See ya all on Monday.

  • Connection
    It’s weird to think that we can connect with God. How does little, ol’ me connect with great, big, amazing Him? But that’s the Good News about Jesus; He came to reconnect us with God forever. Umm…wow! Why wouldn’t we want to pursue that? Here @ the Source, we are always looking for ways to connect with God the Father through Jesus. Our Connection events are fun, exciting, challenging, and sometimes hilarious. But they are all designed to give us opportunity to connect with Jesus. That’s cause we think He is the greatest! But don’t take our word for it. Come check us out and see for yourself.
  • Compassion
    We’ve got this crazy idea. What if our church actually did some of the junk we read about in the Bible? You know, the parts about helping the poor, taking care of the sick, and helping out anyone in need. What kind of difference could that make? Here @ the Source, we believe that telling people that Jesus loves them means demonstrating it through our actions. We believe that God wasn’t just making some great suggestions to improve social conditions when He told us to get involved in the lives of those who are hurting. Through our ReSource and OutSource events, we are committed to being Jesus to a world that desperately needs Him. It’s an amazing job. We feel lucky that we get to do it.
